Carla Geneve - Hertz LP (Black Vinyl) - Signed
Carla Geneve’s new album Hertz marks a change in perspective. The release of the WA singer/songwriter’s debut album, Learn To Like It, coincided with the pandemic, so she spent the quiet months that followed conceptualising and writing her second LP Hertz. This new release is very much a concept album. Geneve plotted the progress of songs to reflect an up and down cycle forming a frequency, which is one reason why the album is called Hertz. “Song writing is always pretty personal with me – this is pretty vulnerable content and I’ve put a lot of thought into sharing it with the world.” Geneve feels that she has learnt not only more about herself, but music overall. And while music was once merely a platform to back her lyric writing, she has built greater confidence in her compositional abilities. “I’ve grown a lot and am very focused artistically. I’m more in control of my output. I know what it takes and how to get it done because I’ve done it before.”
